Past ShowsA glimpse into our history
Vox Feminina 6: ‘Pandora’s Closet’ ~ July 17-July 24 ~ Company OnStage Theatre
Pandora Theatre was excited to open up ‘Pandora’s Closet’ as the sixth installment of its annual variety show of original works!
This show was created based on intimate secrets and was enjoyed by all. ‘Pandora’s Closet’ opened with a lot of comedy, a bit of drama, sprinkled with some surprising suspense! Each original piece revealed intimate secrets, innermost thoughts and so many priceless moments! The actors, actresses, directors and technical experts brought it each and every night!
As always, Vox Feminina is a variety show which showcases new and unperformed works by both local and national artists. We celebrated all entries and struggled with our selection as there were so many amazing pieces sent in!
In association with Vox Feminina, we feature local women crafters and small business owners selling and advertising their products and services in our marketplace. We were pleased to be joined again this year by several enterprising ladies!
Vox Feminina 5: Mom’s The Word ~ April 25-May 10 ~ Company OnStage Theatre
We love all you moms out there and this year we celebrated them! That unsung hero without a cape, that goddess of domesticity, that beacon of light who dried our tears, kissed our boo-boos, and the one who told us the truth when we were wearing so much makeup that even Tammy Faye would have looked at us cross-eyed.
Each production of Vox Feminina is a variety show which showcases new and unperformed works by both local and national artists.
Through Vox Feminina, we also feature local women crafters and small business owners selling and advertising their products and services in our marketplace. The marketplace takes place at the theater and audience members are invited and encouraged to shop to their hearts’ contents beginning one hour before curtain. Bring your friends, bring your mom, bring your friend’s mom and come shop, laugh, and celebrate with us!
Vox Feminina 4 ~ May 3-11, 2013 ~ The Arts Centre in Sugar Land
Vox Feminina 4 was a huge celebration of the feminine spirit. Because the response for this VF4’s call for submissions was so overwhelming with so much amazing material, we were able to produce two separate
weekends of Vox Feminina.
In Vox Feminina 4, we learned what happens in the kitchen when the dishes are left to their own devices; looked into the soul of one woman and her frightening and lonely experience after having a baby; shared in one woman’s joy and excitement after seeing “The King”; and swayed along with some of the finest dance in Houston.
Vox Feminina 3 ~ February 17-March 3, 2012 ~ Frenetic Theatre
Vox Feminina 3 incorporated traditional theatrical pieces as well as singing and dance in collaboration with Houston’s own ChinaCat Dance. We learned the real story of some of history’s most misguided matrimonial matches, discovered the secrets of motherhood in the fifties and now, explored questions of patrimony, experienced the bond of sisterhood, delighted in sultry torch songs and stared in fascination at some toddlers with tiaras. Of course, the men will also had their say. We once again featured some of the more interesting Craigslist personal ads.

String Of Pearls ~ October 7-22 ~ Midtown Art Center
“String of Pearls is a funny and moving tale of a fated necklace that changes the lives of over two dozen characters. Their stories twist and turn through a myriad of emotional turmoil—love, loss, desire—as the necklace touches the lives of all who come into contact with it. The stories and characters, intricately threaded together, create a gently comic, wonderfully magical puzzle.”
Vox Feminina 2 ~ March 4-19 ~ Obsidian Art Space
Eve Ensler’s The Good Body ~ November 5-20 ~ Midtown Art Center
“Ensler’s stories are mighty persuasive when they’re reflected through Pandora Theatre’s faceted prism of actors.”
